Who are we?
Broomwood Methodist Church is one of the South Battersea Churches serving the area of Broomwood and Clapham Common. It is a part of the Methodist Wandle Valley Circuit and we share our minister with St John’s Methodist Church, East Hill, Wandsworth, in the same circuit.
The Church celebrated its centenary in 2000, but it is not at present the large church it was those many years ago. In 1981 the large church building was demolished, giving space to a Methodist Homes Housing Association to build a block of flats for local elderly people on the site.
The present Church is now contained within the remainder of the original building which provide premises for; a formal but intimate worship area situated in the space originally occupied by the choir gallery of the old church, a church hall – the largest in the area, a number of smaller halls and a church ‘Parlour’ and toilet and kitchen facilities.
